The wine
The Höllenberg was first mentioned in 1339 as “at the heroine”. Linguistically, all “hells” are nothing more than “heaps”, i.e. steep slopes. Quartzite, Devonian and phyllite slate create the ideal conditions for elegant Pinot Noir. Our vines in this fillet are 50-60 years old.
The winery
The Allendorf family has lived where the Rheingau is most beautiful since the 13th century. The largest family-run winery around Winkel, Rüdesheim and Assmannshausen manages around 70 hectares. Ulrich Allendorf runs the business with his sister Christine Schönleber.
The entire team works hard and with a lot of dedication to ensure that the great locations can develop their full potential.
For the Allendorf family, working in the heart of their homeland is a great gift and a real obligation.
