The 2015 Pontet-Canet is an exceptional vintage that perfectly captures the essence of the estate. Even as a barrel sample, this wine impressed with its concentration, elegance, and complex aromas of dark berries, spices, and a hint of violets. The extraordinary climate in 2015—ranging from heavy rains to extreme drought—gave the grapes a unique balance of power and freshness. Thanks to the thick skins and biodynamic vineyard practices, this wine is perfect for long aging but can also be enjoyed now.
 
The Winery
 
Pontet-Canet has evolved into one of the most remarkable estates in Bordeaux over the past few decades. Its success story began in 1975 when Alfred Tesseron recognized the estate's potential and implemented a consistent quality-driven approach. With a focus on biodynamic cultivation—becoming one of the first major Bordeaux estates to achieve certification—and innovative methods like using concrete amphorae for vinification, he set new standards in the region. Today, the estate is led by Justine Tesseron, the third generation, who continues her father’s philosophy of sustainability, meticulous vineyard work, and the pursuit of perfection.
